26 bolts of lighting and still no flame: An alphabet of the bands of my youth

by Lareese Hall

Artist's Statement

There are at least 13 ways of looking at a blackbird, and 26 letters in the alphabet.  Thirteen times two.  26 Bolts of Lightning is about fantasizing, remembering, and forgetting.  It is an exercise in telling a story with words standing in for images - and vice versa.  It is a marker of time through both a lived and imagined life.  It is about the journey, always the journey, not the destination.

Lareese Hall is a writer, tinkerer, and librarian.  She has learned some things, forgotten some things, and is always up for a road trip.
